ICAR empowered Tribal farmers through training and input distributions at Samsatang Village, Longding Arunachal Pradesh.

A day long training cum input distribution programme was organized at Samsatang village on 12th Oct 2018 by ICAR Research complex for NEH Region, Arunachal Pradesh centre, Basar in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Longding under NEC funded project, Dr. H. Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR A.P Centre, Basar. Dr. Manish Kanwat, i/c Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Longding. Shri C. Tiwari, HDO, Kanubari, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Miss Tumpi Lollen, ADO, Kanubari, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. Shri Chief, Samsatang village, Shri GB, Samsatang village, Dr. Senpon Ngomle SMS plant protection, KVK Longding, Dr. Tilling Tayo SMS Animal Science and more than 40 farmers attended the programme.

Dr. H. Kalita, well come all dignitaries and farmer participants and briefed all the viable ICAR technology for doubling of farmer income and objective of the programme. He emphasized on adoption of scientific technologies for production of horticulture and agriculture crops towards attainment of doubling farmers income by 2022.

Dr. Manish Kanwat, i/c Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Longding, highlighted the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in up liftmen of framers produce. He informed the farmers that KVK is establish as Farm science centre for framers centric. Like teacher in school, impart knowledge to students without any extra inputs other than knowledge. Similarly, KVK scientists are also imparting scientific knowledge to farmers regarding technical knowhow in Agri, Horti, Fishery and Veterinary framing system. Therefore, KVK is helpful for those real farmers who are working in ground level and need technology to improve their framing system.

Shri G. C. Tiwari, HDO, Kanubari, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. Exhorted that pine apple is very viable horticulture crops for Kanubari area and he inform the framers about how to maintain plant spacing during planting pine apple suckers for better maintenance and harvesting of pine apple.

Miss TumpY Lollen, ADO, Kanubari, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. Also spoke regarding intercropping of pine apple with other agriculture crops for gainful produce from same plot in order to attain doubling farmers income.

Dr. Senpon Ngomle, SMS Plant Protection, talked about the management of pest and disease in pine apple production system, without using inorganic chemical to produce organic pine apple, which patches more price per pine apple produce.  

Mr. Wangsan Wangsupa, Chief, Samstang village, Longding, exhorted that this is first time programme was rganized since Samsatang village exist, so far no any programme conducted to impart knowledge on Agri and Allied sector for farmers. Such type of programme will really encourage the farmers to improve their old age traditional farming system for better Agri and Horticulture produce. Heartily he gave thank to Joint Director, ICAR AP centre, Basar and KVK Londing for organizing such programe and input distribution of 1 lakh pine apple suckers to framers.

Mr. Tailai Joham, GB, Samstang village, Longding. Also expressed his gratitude to Joint Director, ICAR,  A.P centre, Basar and KVK Londing for organizing such farmer centric programme and he asked the farmer to work hard, as ICAR AP Centre Basar and KVK Longding have contributed the sucker of pine apple free of cost. So, now it is time for framers to do their home work by planting the pine apple sucker in time to reciprocate the hard work and pain taken by official of ICAR AP Centre Basar and KVK Longding in distribution of pine apple sucker at framers door step.

During farmers scientists interaction programme many farmers actively interacted with the experts and pledge to adopt suggestion and recommendation made by expert during cultivation of various crops. 

Around 100000 (one lakh) nos of suckenes/slip of pineapple over distributed among the farmer under NEC funded project.
